I find the display provides extremely useful information throughout the cooking process with the temperature profile graph of each sensor being traced. The only negative thing I have experienced is that when you lose contact with the thermometer (for example, if you leave home) you lose the history since you inserted the meat. I was a little disappointed to find that the MeatStick 4X did not have a cook option for smoked chicken thighs, so I chose the chicken breast option which worked out fine. It advice me to pull the probe to prevent damage.

It is very customizable with specific target internal or external temperature, alert temperature and alert sound. received the meatstick Chief Xa couple of weeks ago.

4. The Chef X will show you the temperature along the way from the center to the outside of your protein with great accuracy. It hit 206 degrees and give me a warning that that internal temperature was reaching max. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend the MeatStick 4X to anyone looking to monitor a longer smoking process.

I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to take the guesswork out of cooking! The battery life takes a hit due to shrinking the size down but it is still a very respectable 7 hours.

If you don't already have any. It is truly just a shrunken down version of the Meatstick 4 which is perfect for smaller cuts that would be too small for the full-sized Meatstick.

Other than maybe heat color changing material? Very satisfied and recommend buying I decided to 'upgrade' to the 4X for the different temperature sensors and the extended range of the phone connection. I personally have never seen mine indicate anything less than 100% but I have only used it for relatively short cooks like steak, fish, and chicken.

The overall cook was excellent, the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. I loved the "full sized" Meatsick 4 for smoking larger pieces of meat such as brisket, ribs, boston butt, etc. Overall, I love The Meatstick Chef X, it's a great addition to the thermometers I already have and it's a useful tool that constantly provides feedback on how my cook is going. Setting up the cook is very easy on the app.
